This exhibition features works developed by Rafaat Haji Hamzah since his relocation to Jogjakarta. The works are a product of his observation, from a distance, of what it means to live in a city like Singapore. It is an exploration of how we position ourselves within the social, political and economic climate of Southeast Asia and what it means to be Singaporean – and specifically, Singaporean Malay. Come and be surprised from what you witness within the lines, the strokes, the colours and the symbols.
