Sketch of Void Deck in Circular Road by Dr Ho Chee Lick

This edition of Cita Seni will feature a special forum and exhibition of sketches by Dr Ho Chee Lick on everyday life that takes place in Singapore’s HDB void decks. Dr Suriani Suratman will speak on how these spaces have evolved into a community place that bears various functions and will deliberate on the politics of space vis-a-vis the social and cultural significance of the void decks.

Dr Ho Chee Lick is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chinese Studies, National University of Singapore.

Dr Surinam Suratman is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Malay Studies, National University of Singapore.
