This September, Nonage Gallery goes local, and presents a group show featuring Singaporean and Singapore-based artists only. The gallery brings together artists of different backgrounds and generations, working in different media and techniques, to offer an inquisitive and celebratory perspective, focusing on the diversity of their craft and of their talent.
Celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of the Singapore art scene, CLASSROOM features six Singapore-based artists: Fyon Cheong, Jays Phua, Karina D. Simon, Keith Teo, Lee Kow Fong, and Vanessa Seah. With widely different styles and perspectives, they come together to reflect the rich diversity of a multicultural society that most of us have first come to experience at school, in our classrooms.
The artworks presented are a diverse array: hyperrealist yet abstracted drawings; idealised, dreamy watercolours; delicate ceramic sculptures; paintings exploring various forms of deconstruction; all works offer insight into the subtle interplay between recollection and inspiration, between memory and creativity.
