Singapore Chinese Girls’ School is proud to present their first Art and Music showcase – Compositions, marking the first exhibition outside the school campus and features over forty works by SCGS secondary one to four Art students in a wide variety of medium. Expect to see oil paintings, illustration works, photography works and video. On the opening night, SCGS music students will be performing live as well as present recordings of their original compositions.

A composition is the arrangement of visual elements in an artwork or the structure of a musical piece. Composing is a crucial process in any creative endeavour. In arranging and rearranging the “building blocks” of the art or musical works, the artist perceives the world around her, makes sense of her environment, and offers us a unique perspective on her contemplation.
