In partnership with C.V. Starr East Asian Library, University of California, Berkeley, this exhibition traces the ebb and flow of mutual aid organisations throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in Singapore and San Francisco. Uncover the stories of mutual aid organisations such as Hongmen, locality -based and surname-based organisations and learn about their roles in supporting early Chinese migrant communities.
