Coppélia is one of the most charming of all classical ballets. It is the story of a young man, Franz, who is in love with a beautiful village girl, Swanilda, but momentarily distracted by a mysterious girl named Coppélia. Unknown to him, she is a mechanical doll created by Dr. Coppelius. Coppélia was first produced for Singapore Dance Theatre in 1995 and has become a beloved part of our history and repertoire. Come watch as we present this magical story, beginning with a French village fete in Act I, and progressing on to the wedding celebration for Swanilda and Franz in Act III.
