The title ‘Crafted Scenery’ was planned by a motif from artist Lee’s current exhibition at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale held last autumn. The scenery of his ceramic pieces, filling a white plain wall with various stories, attracted our gaze.
Ceramic artist Lee Chang Hwa, with his ability to mesmerize people with his extraordinary work, always works hard to find the right balance between functionality and aesthetic value of a pottery. While common people perceive the value of pottery, especially tableware, as its functionality, Lee breaks such perception through his new works.
