Film showing and talk by Choreographer and Cultural Medallion Recipient Angela Liong on her creation of the dance film inspired by Japanese author Yukio Mishima’s novel, The Temple of Dawn.
Seeing dance through the camera’s lens is a very different viewing experience. The film project incorporates three different dynamics: written text, live movement, captured images, in the re-creation of a brand new piece of art work. The talk shares with the audience on some of the following points:
The event ends with a fun, interactive segment where audience could experience the dramatics of the everyday through the camera lens. “Characters with Daily Objects in Ordinary Surrounding” – a live short movement demonstration deconstructed from one specific scene in the film is re-enacted for audience to capture with everyday technology like their own iPhones.
