Danielle Tay: Uncertain Discoveries

Danielle Tay, I need not much, only my imagination, 2017

Uncertain Discoveries seeks to investigate the unexplainable issues in the world. Danielle Tay is fascinated by the quirky and uncanny; interested in the blurred line and grey area between the facts that we think we know about the world. She sees herself as an explorer who is investigating unusual phenomena and bringing them to life in an exciting visual way. The need to investigate these areas came about through her dissatisfaction with science and theory. We often have to believe something we are told though we have not experienced it ourselves. Although she is not out to disprove any scientific theories she positions herself to provide alternative ones. These may highlight a refreshing perspective about the things we coexist with on this planet.

Danielle Tay is most intrigued by the co-existence of art and science and points where they intersect. We as humans seek knowledge and seek to know everything, yet we also must accept the fact that there is much that we do not know about this infinitely unknown planet and universe.
