Democratising Innovation

Democratising Innovation will feature three keynote speakers that delve into public sphere that is shaped by both state, policy, and technology.

Emily Chua (National University of Singapore) examines start-up cultures and how state-initiated efforts promote innovation among start-ups; Lina Dencik (Cardiff University) studies the ‘datafication’ of society and its disruption of justice; while Mahmud Farooque (Arizona State University) shares the development and operationalisation of programmes that respond to growing mistrust of the institution of science among the public.

This session is co-presented by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and The Substation and is part of an international conference, Interrogating Innovation.
