We are pleased to present Do you hear the invisible sound?, an inventive group exhibition of Indonesian and Singaporean contemporary practitioners bringing to the fore the ‘hidden’ auralscape of visual works. Curated by Stella Wenny and Nabila Giovanna, the exhibition unites diverse topics to emphasise the significance of pursuing clarity amidst the abundance of noise in our world today. It is an invitation for audiences to truly look at – and listen to – art.
Sound artist Kurt Peterson guides our entry into the realm of the auditory, creating soundtracks to accompany the visual works, each derived from field recordings that have been uniquely modified in response to the artworks on display. Expanding the field of relational aesthetics, Kurt has selected, spliced and synthesised different sound elements, akin to a painter at work in front of a canvas.
