From 15 July to 2 August 2020, T:>Works will present an entirely digitalised edition of its popular Festival of Women: N.O.W. 2020, helmed by the Festival’s Artistic Director – theatre artist and educator Noorlinah Mohamed. Created and developed completely by women both within and beyond the arts, the Festival unites women creatives, change-makers, and thinkers in solidarity under one platform. Entering its second edition this year, N.O.W 2020 will be a free virtual festival in Singapore. The Festival presents original creations delivered to both mobile and desktop devices through different digital strategies. The line-up of over 10 events include live-streamed performance and talks, aurality projects, as well as video narratives.
Highlights include the digital exhibition of Women of N.O.W. featuring over 30 women whose quiet endeavours make visible the social needs and gaps in our society, and Unseen Labour, an exhibition by Ginette Chittick and Hazel Lim in collaboration with women from the community presented through video clips. Also featured are King by Jo Tan and directed by Jasmine Ng; The Book of Mothers by Eleanor Tan and directed by Edith Podesta; a verbatim performance from non-citizen transnational divorced narratives; as well as inclusive insights into the lives of women rock bands and their music.
