Floating Rays of a Wanderer is conceptual artist-photographer Lavender Chang’s solo exhibition. In this exhibition is a series of works akin to tracing the journey of strangers, attempting to sense their destination, mapping their journey over a long duration of exposure via public transport. The images were captured from a public bus with their fixated route, continuously recording the various landscapes brought in front of the lens field of view, compressing the duration into one singular frame.
Lavender Chang’s focus lies in conceptual photography. Lavender’s artwork is a reflection of the sensitivity towards the subtle nuances surrounding her. She hopes to focus on these experiences, to create a canvas allowing further contemplation and letting the passage of time to leave behind traces of her mortality. Chang’s works have been exhibited at the International Orange Photo Festival, China in 2010, the Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards in 2011, Singapore Art Museum and Sundaram Tagore Gallery New York in 2014.
