Talk by Amy Ireland and Patricia Reed, moderated by InYoung Yeo. Panel discussion with Patricia Reed, Amy Ireland, InYoung Yeo, Tania Roy and Clare Veal.
Examining the segregated gender expectations in major cities in Asia, the talk “Gender Hierarchy: On Critiquing Verticality and Looking Towards Diversified Geometry” addresses the limitations of vertical hierarchy in contemporary social structure as it continues to increase the gender gap. The talk further discusses the future potential for complex geometric appropriation that invites repressive issues of all gender stereotypes. Amy Ireland’s “Feminism between Fish and Future AI: A Geotraumatic Critique of Posture” attempts to shift the focus of ‘basic and biaxial political geometry’ of horizontal and vertical, and Patricia Reed’s “Feminism’s Horizonless Future” argues for the construction of new geometric orientations within its delineation.
