This exhibition features Michael Steinbricks’ series of paintings titled “Vortex”—unique, hyperrealistic paintings of city streets. His images limn the bustling streets as seen through lenses made spectral by raindrops streaming on window shields. The artist uses the rain, combined with the chaotic streets of New York City to explore how reality can be transformed by common weather phenomena, while simultaneously providing viewers with an infinite amount of abstraction within a shared experience of moving through an urban space.
