Green Is the New Black is happy to announce the inaugural Green Warriors Exhibition, launching at PARKROYAL on Pickering on Saturday 30th September 2017.
The first Green Warriors Exhibition will feature a stunning collection of portraits of 30 eco-heroes in Singapore who embody conscious living, have pushed limits in their respective industries, and are truly representing business as a force for good. The collection of photographs were shot by acclaimed photographers Flavien Prioreau and Zoe Kovacs.
Green Is the New Black (GITNB) is a guide to living consciously in Asia. This exhibition marks the launch of their online platform where they aim to be the leading network of sustainable brands, conscious-preneurs and thought leaders in Asia. Through their platform (both online and offline) they want conscious living to become accessible, attainable and celebrated throughout the region.
Founder of Green Is the New Black, Stephanie Dickson, says, “It takes balls to be a conscious-preneur, to use your voice and your business as a force for good. These people embody exactly what GITNB is all about – building a sustainable future while doing it in a cool, fun, modern way. We want to share their stories.”
The collection of portraits were shot by acclaimed French fashion and music photographers Flavien Prioreau and Zoe Kovacs. Flavien made a name for himself as a portraitist for actors, artists and musicians, and has shot for Rolling Stone, Elle, Universal Music and with celebrities like Diplo, Karlie Kloss, Jean Dujardin and Barbara Palvin. Zoe Kovacs is known for her creative portraits and together with Prioreau, captured the strength, power and beauty of the Green Warriors.
While the full list of Green Warriors will only be unveiled at the launch of the exhibition, featured personalities include: Singaporean influencer and co-founder of The Good Market, Olivia Tan (@elkantlers) – for her ability to modernise and beautify conscious living and empowering people to eat well and live holistically. Founder of Swapaholic and Connected Threads Asia, Rade Padit for his work in advancing and promoting sustainable fashion in Singapore and beyond. Founder of Up2Degrees, Sandra Marichal, for her work tackling climate change in Singapore by enabling individuals and companies to take one simple step in the bigger fight.
The exhibition launch on Saturday 30th will include musical stylings by Sek Sheng, aka ‘Dr Foo’. A DJ who plays consciously driven electronic, he believes that sound and music can serve a higher purpose of awakening the connection and oneness with all. He is a ‘doctor’ who prescribes aural medication in the form of hypnotic grooves that heal.
