HeART of the Matter, Youth Mental Health

This family-friendly event is organised by Nuwa in partnership with UWCSEA, and aims to raise awareness around youth mental health and how the arts can support young people and their families.

A full morning of talks, workshops, and drop-in art and wellness sessions.

HeART of the Matter encourages parents and young people to talk openly about mental health, and to discover some of the support services the school, health and arts sectors offer to young people.

The event also welcomes professionals working in arts and culture, mental health, and education, to connect with others – getting to the HeART of the Matter of Youth Mental Health.

Featuring
Canvass Life, Hanna Krasnodebska Classical Musician, Hush, Limitless, Lion’s Pride, Pangdemonium Theatre, PlayActing, REACH Youth Services, The Red Pencil, Thrive Family, UWC staff members, and student organised dance workshop and poetry readings.

Talks & Workshops
Join our conversation on youth mental health, and see how the creative arts are helping young people. Talks and the workshops are free, and subject to availability. A number of spaces can be reserved for the talks and workshops in advance by clicking on the links below.

Drop-in arts activities
These fun art activities help promote mindfullness and encourage you to think and speak about youth mental health issues. No need to book – but please come early to avoid dissapointment, as these activities will prove popular and spaces are limited!
