Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay will usher in the Year of the Fire Rooster with an exciting and rousing line-up of performances by outstanding artists from Singapore and beyond at its 15th edition of Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts. Taking place from 3 – 12 February 2017, the annual festival will celebrate the Lunar New Year with the community through an exciting array of ticketed and free programmes featuring theatre, dance, music, visual arts and more. The outstanding artists presented at Huayi 2017 include not just the established artists who are familiar to audiences, such as Stan Lai, Anthony Wong, Yeo Yann Yann, Alvin Tan, Haresh Sharma and Yoga Lin, but also the next generation of young and exceptional artists like the artistic director of Cloud Gate 2, Cheng Tsung-lung; 2016 Young Artist Award recipient, Liu Xiaoyi, and winner of the 27th Golden Melody Awards’ Best New Artist, Eli Hsieh.
