Identity in Dualities is Spanish painter Sergi Cadenas’ first overseas exhibition since the onset of the pandemic. Taking center stage is his signature masterpieces on which Sergi has made his name: kinetic optical portraits that unveil two different faces in one painting when seen from different angles.
Identity is a complex and multi-faceted concept, shaped by our experiences, relationships, and the world around us. It is what makes different yet connected by a common humanity. In this solo exhibition, Sergi Cadenas explores these dualities through his kinetic optical portraits. Through his hand-painted depictions of two individuals merged into one, spot the various ways in which our differences and similarities intersect.
