ImaginAsia was incubated in 2010 by two universities – National Chengchi University, Taiwan, and Meiji University, Japan. It is an iconic trans-cultural workshop exploring the interrelationships among arts, culture, design, diversity, environmental issues, identity, governance, motion graphics, performances and social issues. The research and experiential nature of the workshop transits into sharing and exposure to the different practices of arts and design within the academic and industry paradigms. These exchanges of knowledge enable a better understanding of current and contemporary issues amongst nations in Asia.
In 2019, NAFA’s School of Art & Design will be hosting ImaginAsia. Discussion and sharing sessions will be held, and delegates are invited to present findings at the Southeast Asian Arts Forum 2019 (an inaugural forum co-hosted by NAFA’s Institute of Southeast Asian Arts and School of Art & Design, which will take the shape of presentation, practice and performance, with a lively discussion and exchange to promote awareness in the spirit of collaboration and discovery). At ON AIR Gallery, a live webcast of ImaginAsia 2019’s daily events will be broadcast. Posters and references from past ImaginAsia events will also be displayed.
