
Alongside his residency at INSTINC from 17 September to 7 October 2018, Benjamin will be having his first major international exhibition at the titled In Bloom, which is opening on 5 October 6pm at the Australian High Commission, Singapore and will comprise of both painting and installation works.
Benjamin Werner is an Australian artist with a studio based in ‘Avalon’, a long-term artist apartment block in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Werner is one of a prominent number of current and former artist inhabitants’ alumni of the building and its mystique. Werner’s paintings revolve around the search for the sublime in optics and colour, borrowing from both additive and subtractive colour theories. His current practice involves oil painting, LED artworks and installations; all centred around his light-based studies taken from many cities around the world.
