In Relation is a photographic exhibition organised by the collective ND81, comprising 12 young aspiring artists and photographers from the school of Art, Design & Media. This exhibition features works that explore a range of personal and interpersonal relationships with the spaces they inhabit and the objects within them.
Over a period of five months, the 12 students have gathered with a collective goal of having collaborations and active discussions as essential to the artmaking process. Being in the same learning environment has effectively sparked off a hotbed of idea generation and exchanges, subverting the typical notion that art is pursued in isolation. I n Relation presents a diverse spectrum of approaches towards photography, ranging from the performative and conceptual to the documentative and narrative. With individuals working in a variety of medium in relation to imagemaking, the works expand the possibilities of photography as an art form.
