“Is it REAL?” is a showcase of contemporary art by established Malaysian and Chinese artists. The exhibition presents ultra-realism paintings – still life, photo realistic portraits and landscapes using different mediums from acrylic, oil and ink to pastel and mixed media.
With Lunar New Year coming, Chinese artist Wang Yan’s still life paintings are absolutely awe-inspiring. She painted vivid and unbelievable lifelike paintings of chinese potteries, making these pieces collectable items for those seeking an oriental look in their home display.
Malaysian artists Eddie Tan is best known for his pictorial attention to detail. He enjoys evoking the viewer’s nostalgic feelings of childhood, with his paintings often focusing on comic books, games and comfort foods.
Chen Lian Jun, Huang Xiong Wen, Huang Wen Cheng, Fang Li Hui and Zhang Wei Ming are all exceptionally talented figurative artists from China. Working predominantly with oil and acrylics, these five artists focus their photo realistic works on portraits. The attention to detail on the skin, the expressions and folds in fabrics make their works utterly wonderful.
