Curated by Syed Muhd Hafiz, this exhibition features the works of the late Singaporean artist, Jaafar Latiff, who was known for his relentless experimentation with colours and the batik medium. He was best remembered for his abstract expressionist paintings, culminating in a large-scale work titled Sea Port of Singapore, currently on permanent display at the Bras Basah MRT station. A self-taught artist, Jaafar also played a significant role in the art education scene in Singapore having taught at various art institutions from 1965 until the 2000s.
