Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal Carving, Calligraphy and Painting Society was founded in 1971, and over the years, the Society has spared no effort in promoting the art of seal carving, calligraphy and painting. Through organising exhibitions both locally and overseas, workshops, and sharing sessions, Siaw-Tao brings Chinese art to the public, hoping that more would appreciate the beauty of these traditional artforms and understand its value in contemporary context. Siaw-Tao also records the artistic journeys and experiences of its members, established and young alike, through the commission of art documentaries and publication of catalogues and newsletters.
As the Society’s expenditure increases with time, Siaw-Tao has organised a fundraising exhibition to finance its future activities. 80 % of the sale proceeds from this exhibition will go to the Society. Siaw-Tao hopes to raise ample funds to continue bring good ideas to fruition and allow meaningful activities to be realised.
