Lindslee, Our Daily Bread, Acrylic glass on oil on canvas, 183 x 183cm
In Physically Present Mentally Absent, Lindslee explores the human condition and discusses ideas about contemporary art, myth, beauty, the nature of “Filipino Art”, and the challenges of being an artist in his society. The show celebrates a dedicated, playful artist who experiments with human hair and taxidermy, in his work spanning through mediums of painting, sculpture and installation, from the absurd to the philosophical. Lindslee expresses life’s dualities in the human form, which is present in the many portraits and selfportraits produced throughout the last decade of his career.
Lindslee’s solo exhibition is held in conjunction with Art Trek, the 12th edition this year.
