Student and teacher duo Maya Raisha and Mario Serio bring you an evening of enthralling jazz numbers that combines Maya’s modern approach and Mario’s rich experience, lush harmonic sense and keen ability to accompany sensitively.
A consummate pianist and keyboardist classically schooled in his home town of New York City, Mario Serio plays all genres of music with skill and grace. Performing in Manhattan professionally since 1978, he has served as an accompanist, arranger and musical director for many jazz, latin, pop, cabaret, broadway and revue performers from the USA, Latin America, Canada, Australia, Asia and Southeast Asia.
Maya Raisha plays the piano and drums. Trained in classical music since the age of four, her love for jazz grew after she came under Mario’s tutelage. Last year, she performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City and took the stage at SingJazz Club, a local venue that hosts established jazz stars.
