Corpus Nudus is an exhibition of paintings by Singapore based, Mexican artist Mireya Marsan, where the viewer can enjoy the beauty of the human body in all its glory.
The artist’s artworks show the beauty and soul of the human body with its unique ability to communicate an infinite variety of emotions, ideas, concepts, and stories. Mireya’s work invites the viewer to share an inner world as she explores her identity through the roles of artist and mother. In this exhibition, she approaches the nude form in a classical style. She says: “Nude art has been around for centuries and yet it continues to elicit a varied range of reactions from wonder to indignation.”
Mireya Marsan has since lived in Singapore for nearly 10 years and believes that South East Asia has heavily influenced her paintings. She has dedicated herself full time to painting for 13 years. Mireya has studied at the Grand Central Academy of Art in New York, as well as at the Art Academy of Florence, where she focused on learning the techniques of the Old Masters.
