This summer, Sotheby’s returns with a major cross-category curated sale, tailored to the refined tastes of collectors and patrons in Singapore and beyond. Happening on 9 June 2024 at Conrad Singapore Orchard, we will be hosting a Modern & Contemporary Art Auction as well as the first-ever Fine & Rare Whisky Auction. Furthering Sotheby’s commitment to building an active presence in the region, highlights from these two categories will also be open for a public viewing in a preview exhibition from 5 to 8 June 2024.
Under the overarching theme of Paradise, the Modern & Contemporary Art Auction will feature a selection of works that explore how art-making and artistic creation bring artists and viewers into an idyllic realm. It will be led by the auction debut of White Orchids (Phalenopsis) by Georgette Chen, a pioneer artist of Nanyang style, and feature works by other internationally acclaimed artists including Affandi, Le Pho, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Fernando Botero and more. Sotheby’s Singapore’s first live auction for Fine & Rare Whisky Auction follows the successful inaugural online sale of spirits in Singapore last December and features an impressive array of Japanese whiskies alongside a fine selection of Scotch whiskies. Notably, this includes the oldest and most limited Hibiki, the exquisite Hibiki 35 Years Old Kutani Decanter.
