Seen thousands of times, the seemingly ordinary sights of Singapore nature hide stories that were never told. “I love to explore the nature of the garden city. I love taking paths less traveled to soak nature scenes with its visuals, smells, and noises. Together with my family, we love making up stories about what we see.” – shares Inessa.
Another day we spotted the butterflies by the lake flying in an unusual manner: as if they can see something that we cannot. “They are not alone. Dragon Number 7 is there too. He is just invisible to earth walkers.” – guessed our daughter.
This book and the exhibition is an attempt to share these fantasies through whimsical visual worlds of Inessa’s artworks and poems by Alice Kalabekova. Bamboos, rustic benches, butterflies, and water lilies of Singapore parks… you won’t be able to see them the same again.
Programme highlights:
*Be surprised by artist’s stories on how ordinary sights of Singapore parks led to creation of whimsical worlds of artworks.
*Be mesmerized by artworks-inspired poems recited by the 12 y.o. author.
