The Lords of Strut
TWO DAYS & SIX STAGES OF MUSIC, ART & FUN!

With over 140 performance artists to date, Neon Lights promises a premium multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory experience for everyone, no matter your age or interest.
Neon Lights’ superbly eclectic music line-up to date features 28 music acts handpicked from over 13 countries:

The League of Sideshow Superstars will bring their mind-blowing high-skill circus act and high-impact sideshow stunts to Singapore for the very first time, while The Lords of Strut will charm audiences with their sharp wit, flashes of surprising acrobatic skill and just a dash of naughtiness.
To add to the rib-rattling fun, Comedy Masala will present the best of stand-up comedy with their take-over featuring headliners GB Labrador – the Philippines most sought-after comedian, and Hong Kong-bred Vivek Mahbubani whom the legendary Laugh Factory ranked top 10 world’s funniest people. Other comics include Comedy Masala founder Umar Rana, local new wave comedian Sam See, crowd favourite Liam McDonald from Canada, Malaysia’s “grumpiest” comic Kavin Jay and Filipino “master of accents” Orion Perez.
Back for its seventh edition, Lit Up has a new home this year at Neon Lights. Undoubtedly the hippest event on the annual literary arts calendar, the premier festival-within-a-festival presented by Word Forward is a two-day choc-a-block feast for fans of the spoken and written word, culminating in the National Poetry Slam Championship.
At Cloud Factory, the day belongs to children and their families with NeonKids — the art and movement workshop series presented by the National Arts Council’s 2014 Young Artist Award recipient Ian Loy and his team from MySuperFuture. Come sunset, the tent transforms into The Sound Bar – a series of three distinct performances per night curated by award-winning Noor Effendy Ibrahim, featuring some of Singapore’s most innovative sound, video and performance artists including experimental music by Yuen Chee Wai and friends; the visual arts/sound project NADA; “The Busybodies” by renowned transgender performance artist Marla Bendini; three-piece sound group IKAN IBLIS; SA Trio who combine traditional elements with modern techniques; and Zentai Art Project’s unmissable UFO Concert.
Curated by Recognize Studios and Sideshow, Easy Street is a celebration of all things street. Catch self-professed visual anarchists ANTZ, SHEEP, ZERO, CLOGTWO, AshD, and Slac Satu hit the walls with live graffiti and murals; urban dance crews WWBB, Checkered Minds and Ft lock, pop and drop it like it’s hot through performances and in battle; local rap heroes ShiGGa Shay and Mean heat up the stage; and DJs Koflow and Rattle from Singapore and Spydamonkee from Bangkok, scratch it up on the turntable.
With a veritable feast for the soul through its hefty music and arts offering, Neon Lights also promises a festival of gastronomy with nine food vendors, hand-picked by purveyors of Singapore’s artisanal food movement The Local People, selected for their particularly tasty grub and spirit of innovation.
