American Neo-Pop artist Jan Larsen’s latest show, NEW NORMAL, comments on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our lives – individually and as a society. This is part of a series of art exhibitions and charity events by the artist that runs through 2021.
The first show presents 28 new paintings, prints, and sculptures Larsen and his team produced from their studios in Singapore, India, Iran, and New York between August and November this year – sometimes under challenging situations as cities around the world grappled with disruptions from the pandemic.
Works in NEW NORMAL extend the ‘series’ or ‘streams’ from Larsen’s oeuvre that he has been developing since he launched his career in 2015. For this show, these include the Market Makers, Colorfield, Heroes, Totems, WordWorks, Experiential, Collaborations, JLA Films, and Synchrony series.
Larsen relocated from New York and has been based full time in Singapore since 2019, establishing Robertson House, a two-storey exhibition space and production studios near Robertson Quay.
Venue: Robertson House, 61 Kim Yam Road, Singapore 239362
