The Ng Eng Teng Collection, comprising sculptures, ceramic forms, maquettes, sketches, paintings, drawings and public art, is the most comprehensive collection of works by a single artist in Singapore, spanning over four decades of the artist’s practice.
While Ng has been widely discussed and studied as a key figure in Singaporean art history for his sculptural practice and work on the body, Ng Eng Teng: 1+1=1 reveals previously unstudied elements and works that delve into the Cultural Medallion recipient’s interests in the multiplicities inherent in humanity and our identities, as well as how the human may be imagined or idealized.
