First established by the Ministry of Culture in 1969, The Ngee Ann National Day Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition pays homage to the practice of Chinese calligraphy and painting that is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and history. The Ngee Ann Cultural Centre (NACC) continues the tradition of promoting interest and excellence in the art-form through annual showcase and competitions, featuring works by renowned Singaporean artists and calligraphers, as well as the winning works from the Ngee Ann National Students’ Calligraphy Competition 2019, in celebration of Singapore’s 54 years of independence.
