Nian Hua: Of Deities, Guardians and Auspicious Art

Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall will be launching a special exhibition that will last from 21 January 2022 to 25 September 2022 in collaboration with Three Gorges Museum in China to cast a spotlight on Nian Hua and allow for a closer look at this eclectic, lesser-known art form. Featuring close to 80 artefacts from different provinces of China that were produced during the Qing dynasty and Republican period, Nian Hua: Of Deities, Guardians and Auspicious Art is a showcase of the rarely-documented attitudes and values of the common people of China in the past. The exhibition informs how popular customs and beliefs have evolved over the years, particularly in Singapore.

12 Tai Gin Rd, Singapore 327874

When: 21 Jan - 25 Sep 2022, 10am - 5pm
