The Ngee Ann Kongsi presents No Place like Home. In celebration of Singapore’s golden jubilee, this exhibition is a reminiscence of the nation during her formative years. From a colony of immigrants to a nation, the nostalgic livelihood of various tradesmen, street scenes and landmarks of Singapore are depicted in artworks of different mediums as the city develops rapidly through phases of urban modernisation.
The fine selection of 30 exhibits from the collections of the Ngee Ann Kongsi comprised of Chinese ink, watercolour, oil painting, sculptures and installation art by 18 Singaporean artists.
Admission is free. The exhibition runs from 11 August 2015 – 23 October 2015
