Undescribed is an annual platform for emerging talents to present new explorations in the medium of photography and moving images. Helmed by Robert Zhao Renhui and John Tung, selected applicants will undergo a mentorship programme to sharpen and define their art practices and portfolios in photography. Through a guided series of studio practice and exhibition-making, applicants are expected to arrive at final showcase of new works to be presented at Peace Centre.

In the interim of DECK’s construction of its new building at 120A Prinsep Street, DECK is exploring placemaking through the arts at Peace Centre. The presentation of Undescribed at Peace Centre offers applicants the challenge and opportunity to explore unconventional and creative modes of presentation in a public space.

Each selected applicant will be allocated a supplementary budget (up to SGD$1,000) for the production and presentation of new works at Peace Centre. Selected applicants are expected to be present and participate in the mentorship and exhibition production of Undescribed.
