In Opulent Surfaces, Randy concerns himself primarily with the fine textures of animal fur, fabric and skin. Harkening back to an era when painters paid particular attention to the luxurious feel of precious objects around them, Randy executes his compositions in his characteristic, mesmerizing blues. Comprising close-up animal portraits and mannered classical paintings, we are riveted and amazed by the virtuosity of his detailed brushwork.
