Singaporean photographer, Leslie Kee, launches the first-ever Out in Singapore initiative as part of PinkFest Singapore leading up to PinkDot 2018. The project aims to capture, for a start, 150 portraits of LGBTQ+ Singaporeans who openly identify as such.
This will be Kee’s second “Out in..” project – the first was in Japan in 2015, where he resides. Out In Singapore aims to build a more inclusive society that accepts and supports people who wish to come out. Kee’s wish is to familiarize the Singaporean public with the LGBTQ community by shining a gentle spotlight on them. And in doing so, to share accurate information about who the individuals of this often marginalized community truly are.
