Happening from 15 June to 24 June 2018, Pameran Poskad 2018 is a showcase of postcard-sized artworks by internationally renowned artists, alongside masterpieces created by hobbyists and laymen. In its sixth year running, this exhibition will boast 5000 pieces of artwork and over 500 participating artists from Singapore and around the world. Pameran Poskad is a ground-up creative movement started in 2005, by Tamae Iwasaki and Eitaro Ogawa.
Meaning ‘postcard exhibition’ in Malay, Pameran Poskad seeks to share the joy of experiencing art as creators, appreciators, and collectors with ordinary people from all walks of life who may not consider themselves as artists. A unique confluence of contemporary artists, art patrons, and emerging talent, this event hopes to encourage aspiring artists in their pursuit of creativity and bring the beauty of expression and imagination to everyone and anyone.
The last installment held in 2015 showcased over 500 artists from 29 countries, including internationally recognised artists such as Jimmy Ong (Singapore), Donna Ong (Singapore), Genevieve Chua (Singapore), Wilson Shieh (Hong Kong), R.E. Hartanto (Indonesia), Takashi Kuribayashi (Japan) and Ahmad Zakii Anwar (Malaysia).
All types of artwork, ranging from two-dimensional prints, paintings and illustrations, to three-dimensional objects, ceramics and toys will be put on display – as long as they fit within a postcard-sized sleeve. The size restriction keeps the works small and compact, allowing greater accessibility for any member of the public to purchase and enjoy an original piece of artwork.
