Peter & Blue Go Around the World

Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be presenting the children ballet, Peter & Blue Go Around the World from 30 May – 2 June 2019 at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Choreographed by Janek Schergen, this is an hour-long production which brings together the magic of fairy-tale and delightful dancing.

Synopsis
Peter has always been a boy who is full of excitement, and adventures are irresistible temptations to him. Peter’s mother and father have always encouraged and given him the freedom to explore the world around him as Peter has proven himself worthy of their trust. So imagine their surprise, when one afternoon he comes home and says that he’d just been around the world…

One day, Mr. and Mrs. Strawberry, the guardians of the woodland forest, meet Peter and he tells them about how much he wishes to see the whole world. It is to Peter’s delight that Mr. and Mrs. Strawberry have a magic boat that can take them to anywhere in the world and back in no time at all!

Peter takes his dog, Blue and his cat, Calico along with him on this adventure. Mr. and Mrs. Strawberry send the Blueberry boys along with them as guardians. Their first stop is Japan, where they make new friends and explore more of Japan than they thought possible. Next, Peter journeys to China where he marvels at the wonders of a big country and taste every kinds of food. Peter always wished to visit the capitals of Europe, and his dream comes true as he travels though France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and England. Just across the ocean, they ventured into the United States of America as their last stop before going home.

Peter has travelled to more places than he could have ever dreamt of. Through his adventure around the world, Peter has been on a plane, boat, train, bicycle, and so much more. After all the excitement, Peter tells his parents that travelling is really fun and great, but home is still best! That is until next time.
