This exhibition showcases a selected group of our Second Generation and veteran artists who were seriously and vigorously committed to their art from the 1950’s to present. Through their paintings and print-making, they found expression for their thoughts and aspirations, alongside a Singapore that was transforming rapidly from ‘kampong’ to thriving metropolis. Portals to our Past is a specially curated series of artworks that reflect the colourful and dynamic urban, social and cultural landscape of Singapore’s history.
