With progress comes compromise. As we construct our country, we simultaneously compromise on foundation pieces of the nation. As citizens, do we have a say in what is undermined and what is salvaged? Progress: The Game of Leaders is a highly interactive sculpture based on a classic block-stacking game that takes a tongue-in-cheek play on Singapore’s current socio-political landscape.
Presented by Singaporean artist Samantha Lo, the thought-provoking interactive installation features blocks of Progress representing elements used to build a first-world Singapore, with the stacking of blocks reminiscent of building skyscrapers with our own hands.
