As the BA(Hons) Fine Arts graduating students stand on the edge of the precipice that marks the end of their time at LASALLE, they choose to see the conclusion to their journey as a beginning, rather than the end. On the cusp of their graduation, the students present their artworks that are a result of deep learning and creative exploration during their three years of study. The show deviates from the standard idea of a graduation as the end of education and entrance to the real world. Instead it embraces the fact that this is simply opening a path for them to continue their education and ever-evolving art practices.
Like the pearl in the proverbial oyster, the students have all evolved through various pressures and come to understand not only their own works, but of their space in the vast canon of history. Having questioned and battled with the development of their individual practices, they have managed to steady the ground beneath their feet just enough to take the leap into the future.
