Presented by Co-Museum and curated by Appetite, Proof of Concept is a digital media and crypto art show happening at Gillman Barracks from 6 to 15 January 2023. The show is powered by Coinhako, the leading cryptocurrency platform in Singapore, and puts into spotlight the works of 25 of the most influential artists working on the cutting edge of art and technology.
Proof of Concept will span two categories in an exhibition space of over 7,500 square feet. The first section considers artistic practices of blockchain origins and highlights include Tyler Hobbs and Dandelion Wist’s QQL (2022), Sarah Friend’s lifeforms (2021), Harm van den Dorpel’s Mutant Garden Autobreeder (2021), as well as Mitchell F Chan’s Digital Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility (2017).
The second section focuses on the reinvention of traditional mediums, including ways of image-making to contemplate and create new canvases. Highlights include Reuben Wu and Jenni Pasanen’s METAMORPHE series (2022), Shavonne Wong and Lenne Chai’s By Proxy series (2022), ix shell’s Dreaming at Dusk (2021), and Refik Anadol’s An Important Memory for Humanity (2021).
