Proximities by artist-curator Zulkhairi Zulkiflee, the recipient of Objectifs’ inaugural Curator Open call in 2019 (MAT), continues his interest in images and visuality around by the Malay male body and his works’ key themes of representation, racialised masculinities and Malay male identity formations. In this first solo exhibition, Zulkhairi presents a new video work that foregrounds Malay masculinities and their plural representations, intersecting wide-ranging sources from art history to personal meditations.
