Join us on an exploration of modern ink paintings with Rediscovering Treasures: Ink Art from Xiu Hai Lou Collection. Xiu Hai Lou is the largest and most established private collection of Chinese painting and calligraphy in Singapore today.
Acclaimed as one of the four most important ink collections in the world, Xiu Hai Lou was assembled across four decades by pioneering local Teochew businessman Yeo Khee Lim (1917 – 1998).
The exhibition will be the first comprehensive survey of the collection by a national museum. It will offer a glimpse into the evolution of modern Chinese painting and traces the movements and trends that has shaped its transformation from the late 19th to late 20th centuries.
