
'Young Woman with Earrings' by Rembrandt, 1654, The Hermitage
Rembrandt, who epitomised the Golden Age of Dutch art, died 350 years ago. His life and work will be discussed in this lecture, alongside the great achievements of the Dutch Golden Age in which new art genres emerged that changed the development of western art. Rembrandt’s master works as a draughtsman, painter and printmaker, depicting a wide variety of themes ranging from portraits, landscapes, genre, allegorical and history imagery, will be explored.
