Sand Garden is conceptualized by “AVC”, a visual and sound art experimental duo. This work seeks to utilize the exploration and play of what one does in a sand box, while bringing elements of mark making and collaboration, through the staging of the work, in an interpretation of the Japanese Zen Gardens. The installation features playful forms that are reminisce of rock structures while the stretch of sand allows the participants to activate the installation through the use of mark making tools. Sand Garden’s objective is a playful take of the intangible sensorial aspect of play that foregoes rules and structures that interacts.
