
The School of Young Talents (SYT) commemorates its 25th Anniversary at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) , from 26 May – 12 November 2024. Themed ‘Seeds of Hope’, this celebration encapsulates the essence of growth, hope, and dreams within our vibrant young talents from Junior Art, Junior Dance, Junior Drama and Junior Music with over 25 years of storied legacy in NAFA.
From performing arts to visual art, the anniversary event unfolds over six months, featuring an exciting line-up of workshops; live showcases and performances. To inaugurate the festivities, the Junior Dance students will present ‘Seeds of Hope: Transcend,’ on 26 May. The SYT Young Talents in Concert which will be held on 1 June, will feature our Junior Music talents who will bring a dramatic flair to Tchaikovsky’s renowned piano work, The Seasons. They will be joined by acclaimed violinist and SYT alumna, Chloe Chua, currently an artist-in-residence with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and is set to embark on her international tour. An International Young Pianists in Concert held on 2 June will feature piano prodigies from China and the UK, courtesy of esteemed partners from the Royal Academy of Music, UK and China Conservatory of Music. Junior Drama students will present showcases ‘Beginners Call: The Beginning’ and ‘Beginners Call: Double Bill’ from 5 to 6 October. An exhibition featuring students of Junior Art will round off the celebrations from 29 October to 12 November.
